WHERE TENNIS MEETS
CULTURE, COMMENTARY,
AND FORM

AN EDITORIAL STUDY OF THE GAME THROUGH VISION, LANGUAGE, AND CULTURE

EDITOR'S NOTE

WE'RE EVAN COLE AND NOAH YOUNG. UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY, TENNIS OBSESSIVES, AND CULTURAL CRITICS IN TRAINING.

Racquet Theory started as a reaction to how the game is too often flattened into highlights, hot takes, and hollow narratives. We felt there was room for something slower, stranger, and more layered. A journal that treats tennis not as a niche interest but as a subject worthy of serious attention and unexpected angles. This is our attempt to sketch a broader frame. One that welcomes both longtime fans and curious outsiders. Not to explain the game away but to sit with it, study it, and see what else it might reveal.
